Ocean Tranquility AfghanPattern and step-by-step tutorial
Hello, hello, arachnids!
Do you think we were going to be quiet any longer? Don’t think we’re “resting in the laurels”… We never stop crocheting and knitting here!
This year I found a motivation for baby blankets, I never had a good reason to make one before but I’ve been searching free patterns to share with you and to give to some lucky mothers 🙂
For today I present you the Ocean Tranquility Afghan that the designer created so projects from this pattern could be donated to charities.
I made this afghan with 8 skeins of the new DMC’s Natura Medium that I was dying to try (in fact I bought it as soon as it came :D) and a 5,5 mm hook. I loved this cotton yarn, actually, I love is my favorite Natura yarn (the tutorial photos are made with Natura XL) with the right size for making countless projects. Now I’m only waiting for it to have more bright colors like the standard Natura.
This 100% cotton afghan is so cool and soft and with this 8 skeins I made a 70 x 100 cm afghan.
This pattern is for beginners and you only need to know chain stitch, slip stitch and double crochet. I also took some photos so you can understand everything clearly!
Don’t forget to block the afghan after you finish it so you don’t end up with crooked edgings and if you’re going to give it to a baby, you should wash it before.
We will come back soon with a compilation of this year’s work with perfect projects for Spring.
See you soon!
