"Etsy" what...?QUICK GUIDE FOR BEGINNERS
One of the most common questions people ask me since I started crocheting and then selling is: “where do you sell?”.
Needless to say, I sell in person but I also sell through a site called ETSY… and that’s when I get the second most common question: “Etsy what?” Because of this, I’d like to explain a little bit what this is all about, not just for me, but for you, so you can have access to the magical world of Etsy.
Etsy is an e-commerce site that focuses only in hand-made and vintage products (at least in theory). This means that anything, ANYTHING you can imagine, someone probably it’s doing it. Everything, from furniture, clothing, painting, lion mane for cats (?) and of course : ), crochet items.
To buy you need to set up your credit card or your Paypal account and even if you are buying through Etsy, you are really buying directly to the seller and he’s the one that decides shipping costs, times and everything else. For this reason it’s important to use your common sense and see the stars and reviews the seller has, as well as asking questions.
Another great plus for Etsy is exactly that personal attention the seller gives. You can ask every question you have, ask for changes and even ask for custom items the person is not selling. Because of this, you also have the possibility to ship items to and from all around the world, which is not always possible through some e-commerce websites. Also, is really easy to use and for you who fear another languages, it’s available in English (and Spanish and others).
In my posts you could see the Etsy logo (an orange and white “E”), in case you have interest in see what’s for sale.
Once you take a look at Etsy, be ready to spend hours seeing the wonders that are for sale there.
Remember that El taller de Aracne has a Etsy shop and you can check our products here.
You’re welcome ; )
